How much fun was this?
After the great give away the other day, my girls took me out to dinner.
We went to a wine bar.
I had a flight of bubbly wine.
And a cocktail with tequila and elder-flower liqueur.
Thankfully, we dropped off my car at home so I wasn't driving.
We also ate a ton of yummy food.
Flatbreads and brussel sprouts, sliders and shrimp and grits.
But the best part was the conversation.
Hanging out together.
I have worked with these women for years.
Though we will remain close friends, I won't see them everyday anymore.
We will no longer work together.
It feels weird.
This happy hour was a great way to celebrate.
We were celebrating summer, and the give away, and my new job.
I got to talk about work to my heart's desire.
Which I know gets old for everyone around me, but that's how I process.
Having a novel audience is fun for me.
I also got to hear all about the place I used to work.
It will always feel like my heart is still there, at least a little bit.
Though we work together, we don't go out as often as we used to.
We really should though.
We are good at.
We laugh and drink and complain and act silly.
I love hanging out with my friends.
It is worth making time for.
It is a good thing.
